Description

Tipon Release S is a chemical release agent suitable for mould and shutter faces prior to casting concrete in order to achieve a clean release. After removal of the formwork, the resultant concrete has a smooth, hard, uniform finish with reduced incidence of blow holes. Tipon Release S can be applied to the formwork by spray in the form of a light, uniform coating.

Product Use Description

Tipon Release S is formulated for application to plywood, timber, steel, and plastic-faced formwork and moulds, prior to casting concrete, to ensure a clean release.

Method of Application

Tipon Release S reacts chemically with cement to impart excellent release properties to treated surfaces. Concrete cast against surfaces coated with Tipon Release S exhibits a smooth, hard, uniform finish.

Tipon Release S has no negative effect on the properties of concrete nor will it impair the adhesion of subsequent surface treatments when applied at the recommended coverage rates.

Direction for Use

Apply before the first casting and thereafter re-apply immediately after stripping and cleaning the mould. Lightweight horticultural sprayers are ideal as Tipon Release S is finely atomized to give a uniform coating. Excessive application should be avoided.

Alternatively, application may be made with a fine-haired brush; only a very thin coating should be applied, and any excess removed. If, after the first application, Tipon Release S is completely absorbed into new timber or plywood, a further application should be made before filling the moulds of formwork.

Note:

Progressively better results are obtained on plywood and timber moulds as they become impregnated and operatives become accustomed to working with the release agent.

Tipon Release S may be used over timber moulds that have been treated with other mould oils, provided excess has been removed.

Packaging

Tipon Release S is available in 200 Ltr. drum.

Coverage

The coverage rate for Tipon Release S is 30 to 70 m²/liter when spray-applied, depending on the smoothness and porosity of the formwork used.

Health & Safety

As with all chemical products, care should be taken during use and storage to avoid contact with eyes and mouth. Avoid contact with skin and foodstuffs (which may be tainted by vapors until the product is fully cured or dried). In case of splashes, rinse eyes and skin immediately. If accidentally ingested, seek medical attention immediately. Keep out of reach of children and animals. Reseal containers after use.

Storage & Shelf Life

Store under cover, out of direct sunlight, and protect from extremes of temperature. Storage life is up to 12 months when stored in unopened containers as specified. Failure to follow recommended storage conditions may lead to premature deterioration of the product or packaging.
